Job Description

As an Assistant Service Manager with MH Equipment, you will report to the Branch Manager, and the primary function is to provide supervision and support for the service department.

Assistant Service Manager – Industrial Forklift

Job Responsibilities

As an Assistant Service Manager with MH Equipment, this position will report directly to the Service Manager and will work closely with other individuals in the sales, service, parts and aftermarkeet departments.

Additional responsibilities of the Assistant Service Manager include:
  1. Complete customer quote worksheets as required, approve labor/parts pricing on quotes done by aftermarket personnel.
  2. Work with Service Manager to control open WIP, review work orders when turned in for completeness and accuracy.
  3. Close work orders when needed.
  4. Follow up on status of all shop work tickets and maintain a tracking system.
  5. Supervision of the preparation and pre-delivery of new equipment
  6. Maintain customer PM contracts and LTM contracts track terms and notify appropriate MH Equipment personnel prior to contract ending..
  7. Maintain and submit weekly reports to service manager.
  8. Work closely with the Used Truck operations and Used Truck Manager.
  9. Follow up with customers as to customer satisfaction and completeness of repairs.

     10.  Schedule the pick up and delivery of rentals, truck sales and repair jobs to and from our shop.

     11.  Handle all lease end returns to include verifying with leasing company lease is

            complete, lease return inspections, billing customers for inspection and lease return pick up.         

      12.  Maintain lease return inventory and work with used truck department to sell and wholesale

            lease return assets.     

      13. Miscellaneous other tasks as required by the service manager

Job Requirements

As an Assistant Service Manager with MH Equipment, you must possess a positive attitude, superb verbal and written communication skills and great customer service skills. You must be able to communicate well over the phone, work successfully in a team environment and complete neat and timely paperwork. You must have a strong work ethic and sense of integrity, the desire to serve others and an eye for detail and accuracy.

Additional requirements for the Assistant Service Manager include:

  1. A technical background is required.  Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, fuel systems, charging systems are a plus. 
  2. Strong customer relations skills
  3. Must be neat and organized
  4. Good telephone skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  6. Ability to cope with pressure, multiple projects, frequent interruptions and able to deal with a fast paced position.
  7. Data entry skills, good basic computer knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
  8. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.  See the attached list for physical requirements.
  9. Regular and prompt attendance

     10.  Must be a Good Team player and build a Team Environment.

     11.  Supportive of Company and Branch goals and objectives.
