Job Description


Project Manager of Highway / Bridge Design Engineer– Memphis, TN

 

Immediate need to acquire a professional engineer (PE) experienced in Transportation of Highway and/or Bridge design. This exciting and challenging opportunity will be shared between managing the  projects, and help the Resident Engineer in their marketing efforts to help grow this established office.

The technical focus will be to manage the design projects to completion. Project management duties will include overseeing and leading the other technical design professionals (CAD techs, EIT’s, PE’s) in executing of work and production of designs, calculations & contract drawings, as well as training design techniques, processes, and code to the technical staff. Also, responsibility of negotiating contract scopes, budgets, schedules, QC/QA, and overview /meetings with the clients in coordinating subs and participating agencies to ensure overall completion of work that meets or exceeds expectations.

The marketing focus will be Transportation design & build related work for primarily state departments of transportation (DOT) of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi… as well as other related transportation tri-state area projects. The marketing duties include periodic meetings with developing potential clients to build & maintain relationships, market analysis, evaluation of requests for proposals (RFP’s), as well as letters of interests for strategic decisions to proceed or not. Also, prepare proposals, and put together project teams for proposals that meet client requirements, and participate in making presentations and interviews.  

Job Requirements

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • BS Civil Engineering, Tennessee PE License or ability to obtain registration through reciprocity.

  • A minimum 7 to 15 years in bridge and / or roadway design.

  • A minimum of 4 years plus in Project Management (take projects from cradle to grave).

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Must have some established DOT relationships /any client marketing experience within the Tri-state region of Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi.

  • Can multi task and collaborate effectively in handling a wide range of technical related issues in an efficient & timely manner in meeting deadlines, etc.

  • Must have an outgoing personality, a self starter, strong leadership & training qualities, as well as  a desire in helping to participate in the growth of a successful office.
