Tier 1 Technical Support Engineer

Columbus, OH

$15.00 per hour

This emerging data protection company is looking for multiple Technical Support Engineers to assist customers on the Tier 1 level. Via phone and email, Tech Support Engineers will guide customers through their technical issues and provide necessary information about products and services. Ideal candidates for this support position will have two or more years of client support experience, demonstrated problem resolution skills, and working knowledge of Windows desktop troubleshooting and server administration. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Client’s clients via telephone, email, and web conferencing
  • Proactively stay up to date with all the latest technologies concerning Client’s products and the underlying technologies
  • Research and troubleshoot customer problems and inquiries
  • Update and work assigned cases in a timely manner
  • Contribute to documentation to build Client’s knowledge base
  • Operate effectively in stressful situations

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree preferred; viable combination of education, certification, and experience also acceptable           
  • Two (2) years of client or customer support with demonstrated problem resolution skills; call center experience is a plus
  • One (1) year working knowledge of Windows desktop troubleshooting experience (past and current Windows OS)
  • One (1) year of server administration experience in a Windows environment desired
  • Strong Networking background desired
  • VMware or Microsoft virtualization technology experience desired
