Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for customer statements and Finance & Insurance installment statements, bank deposits, refund checks, receivables, collections, 1099s.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

           

  1. Post journal entries for bank transactions (bank links).
  2. Statement balancing, preparation, and mailing.
  3. Retro statement chargebacks.
  4. Process refund checks for credit balances.
  5. Accounting support of new products including journal entries and reconciliations.
  1. Accounts Receivable deposits.
  1. Maintain receivable report for all past due account for all customers
  2. Customer service calls.
  3. Collections on past due accounts
  4. 1099 maintenance and preparation for IRS.
  5. Ledger account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  6. Stop payments and cancelled checks via bank software.
  7. Prepare and verify documents  for imaging
  8. Performs other administrative responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Some accounting course work preferred.  Minimum of four years office experience including at least two years working in Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable along with customer service experience.  Ability to handle large volume of phone calls and multi-task.

any combination of education, training, and experience which would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Knowledge of accounting procedures on both manual and automated systems.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing and accounting software, specifically Excel.
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute with accuracy and to perform data entry.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks; self-starter; innovative, high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and to communicate effectively with dealers, vendors, financial institution representatives, policyholders, etc.
