Job Description

AM Facility Services, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a regional leader in providing floor care services in clients’ supermarkets in six states since 1999. We have realized average annual growth each year in excess of 20% and anticipate growth this year to be above 25%.  


AM Facility Services is seeking a driven, organized, and dynamic Operations Manager to lead its Chicagoland business unit with over 70 client locations.  This position is based in Chicago, Illinois.


Major Accountabilities:

  • Planning, budgeting, and operational results

  • Staffing, training, and resource optimization

  • Management of 2-3 Area Managers, 10+ Night Supervisors, and 150+ Night Floor Care Technicians

  • Budget management and reporting

  • Project management

  • Relationship building with client management


    Job Duties: 

  • Directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of the Chicago business unit in support of the goals and objectives of the organization. 

  • Manages business unit in order to achieve or exceed established financial goals through the effective management of human resources and focused CRM strategies.

  • Provides performance planning, mentorship, instruction and performance feedback to direct reports.

  • Conducts client and project consultant conferences to resolve concerns/questions to plan and coordinate work and maintain a high quality of scope of work provided.

  • Effectively utilizes available resources throughout the organization to identify clients’ needs and level of satisfaction of services provided..

  • Works with employees at all levels and, in particular, Regional Director and Area Managers to respond to client needs, and implement acceptable solutions to issues or concerns that may arise. 

  • Continually monitors financial performance of the business unit by analyzing current and future unit activities, costs, efficiency of operations, etc. and provides feedback to senior management on a regular basis.

  • Directs client contracting in the unit and reviews proposals and pricing.

  • Monitors individual employee project management skills specifically as they relate to financial performance of projects and client.

  • Commits sufficient time to projects to complete work in a timely manner to meet the needs of the client.

  • Coordinates all phases of work on large projects and/or a number of small projects.  Manages projects efficiently and cost effectively to enhance profitability.

  • Other duties as assigned.

      • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with individuals and teams at all levels of the company and within client organizational structure.

      • Ability to travel locally to client locations with the greater Chicago area up to 40% of the time.

      • Ability to effectively work from your home office.

        Required Experience

      • Relevant post secondary education and/or training required.  Four year college degree preferred.

      • Five or more years of relevant experience required. 

      • Operations management and CRM experience preferred.
