Mechanical Engineer

 

Representative Duties and Tasks:

Performs detailed design, documentation and test of mechanical components, equipment or subsystems

Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, and equipment

Conducts feasibility studies and tests new and modified designs

Prepares detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication

Performs fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems

Researches and analyzes data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application

Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate requirements management, standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle

May provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employees

May provide engineering support to manufacturing/operations

Independently determines approach to solutions

Contributes to the completion of major programs and projects

Plans and executes project tasks for activities described above

 

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, a related technical field or the equivalent experience is required. In addition, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required

 

Must be able to travel 10% of the time.

Applicant must be a US Citizen.

No Clearance Required.

 

 

Additional minimum requirements and preferred skills

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Solidworks experience preferred.

Experience with heavy steel fabrication, welding, precision machining and liquid cooling systems desirable.

 

 Full use and understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, principles, and theories

 General knowledge of other related disciplines

 Keeps abreast of technology trends

 Contributes to the achievement of business objectives

 Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

 Strong written and verbal communications skills

 Ability to think creatively

 Ability to multi-task

 Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions

 Ability to clearly recognize and report information relevant to sound mechanical engineering design

 Able to sell concepts and ideas
