Responsibilities / Expectations

We are looking for an RF Systems Engineer that has experience with SATCOM systems and product architectures including LNAs, LNBs, frequency converters, fiber optic systems, LDAs, SSPAs, SSPBs, BUCs, switch matrices, RF distribution, frequency references, and BITE.  Our employees work in a team environment with leading edge technology.  We are the best in the industry at solving tough customer problems while keeping our nation safe.


In order to be a successful in this role,  you must be able to:

•Generate cascade performance prediction analyses (i.e. NF, Gain, IP3, IP2, 1-dB compression, spurious response, EVM, etc.) through frequency conversion

•Perform satellite to Earth station terminal and terminal to satellite link budgets for VSAT and large antenna systems

•Utilize ARSTRAT Testing and Certification

•Produce proposal responses for Earth station antenna systems including antenna and satellite standards research, generation of system specifications, engineering schedules, budgets, WBSs, resource allocations, and design documentation

•Perform VSAT and SOTM system design, implementation and test

•Generate engineering documentation including BOMs, schematics, RF block diagrams, test procedures, technical memos, test reports, and power consumption analyses

•Analyze Antenna Control Systems and M&C Systems

•Perform theoretical analysis of digital modulations including but not limited to BPSK, QPSK OQPSK and coding techniques

•Perform system integration and test including on-site testing and qualification

•Use G/T, cross-pol isolation, and antenna pattern measurement techniques

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience * Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related field, or the equivalent experience is required. * Advanced degree preferred. * A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience is required.


Additional minimum requirements and preferred skills include the following:

• Must be able to maintains effective use, understanding and tailoring of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories

• Must be able to contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas

• Must be proficient with requirements management, system design & system modeling tools

• Must be proficient with various architectural patterns, applies them appropriately, understands strengths/weaknesses within those architectures and develops architectural variations as necessary

• Must be familiar with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks

• Must have the Ability to clearly report information relevant to sound systems engineering design

• Must be able to understands and applies project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls

• Must have a working knowledge of Cascade Analysis programs such as AWR's VSS 250 and with RF link Budget Programs

• Must be comfortable presenting Design Reviews and Customer Interaction

 * Use G/T, cross-pol isolation, and antenna pattern measurement techniques

 * Be familiar with RF analysis and trouble-shooting including RFI mitigation
