The Challenge

Exp is currently searching for an Environmental Specialist, located in Columbus, Ohio that will be responsible for assisting environmental project managers with project execution responsibilities.



Principle Areas of Responsibility



•Creating or editing Excel spreadsheets, locating and organizing computer files, analyzing submitted data forms from the fields, locating features with GIS, and several other clerical tasks.

•Researching background information from published sources, drafting sections of environmental documents and permit applications, and managing and processing of environmental field data into permit documents.

•Previous experience in writing NEPA documents and permit applications a requirement.



Job Requirements

The Skills, Knowledge and Abilities We Seek

•A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences or Geology.

•Prior experience and references to the applicant’s ability to write documents and process field data in a comprehensive manner for permit applications.

•Experience in wetlands and resource delineations for native species and habitats in Ohio, WV and PA. 

•Preferred USACE ORAM classwork and familiarity with habitat assessments for the region

•Knowledge of computer applications and functions, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

•Ability to meet project deadlines.

•Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision.

•Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including advanced technical writing abilities.

•Ability to prioritize and organize.

•Ability to compile, review and reconcile data.

Tests & Exams:

•Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check

•Successful completion of a pre-employment driver’s history check

•Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test
