Job Description

LAC Group seeks a Scanning Technical Support Specialist to work on an a project for our client, a prestigious government agency located in Washington, DC.

Job Requirements

  • Perform data entry tasks using a Microsoft Excel to prepare metadata for documents for scanning
  • Use Open Text DM Windows Explorer and CybderDOCS (DM Webtop) to perform quality checking of scanned documents and metadata
  • Inventorying and handling of documents.
  • Quality control of documents at all stages: preparation, unbinding, sorting, scanning, rebinding and refilling.
  • Provides Quality Control on metadata and documents (pdf files) electronically ingested into the IR. This includes confirming document classification, match document to the metadata, inclusion of the watermark on all pages of the document, and clarity of images.
  • Scanning documents using Fujistu scanner and uploading to the Repository.
  • Metadata Entry & Indexing from documents or provided lists
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the manager.
  • Contact the Help Desk for any issues with the Desktop and work with them to resolve the issue(s).

Must be proficient in:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • MS Word
  • Outlook
  • Network Drives


  • Knowledge of metadata standards strongly required
  • Experience with indexing, digital cataloging or metadata tagging is strongly preferred
  • Ability to develop deep understanding of subject matter
  • Must pay attention to detail, work with minimal supervision
  • Must have good communication skills
