Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Computer Forensic Examiner for our security and compliance division, to be based out of any Sikich Office.


We need someone who is driven, relentless and detail-oriented to join our forensic team. You’ll need to exhibit an inquisitive nature when conducting investigations, and focused creativity while trying to reconstruct an attack.




  • Acquire computers and networking devices/seizing evidence in a forensically-sound manner
  • Examine systems for points of intrusion and recreate storylines
  • React in real time as part of incident response events
  • Reverse engineer malware
  • Consult with clients on high-level strategic initiatives as well as highly-technical and detailed regulatory compliance projects
  • Learn the tricks of the trade from experienced mentors
  • Blog about your new security finds

Job Requirements




  • Proficiency with:
    • Forensic collection and data analysis tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, etc.)
    • Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
    • Ecommerce and brick-and-mortar environments
  • Willingness to maintain your proficiency by:
    • Keeping up-to-date with tools, IOCs, countermeasures and technologies
    • Sharing your knowledge and mentoring new team members and peers
    • Developing and refining tools, templates and methodologies
  • Knowledge of general information security principles
  • Comfort with presenting security concepts or findings to both highly-technical and entirely non-technical audiences
  • Ability to:
    • Interpret findings, identify unusual behavior and recreate a story of events
    • Write and speak exceptionally well




  • Experience with:
    • Security auditing or consulting
    • Working e-discovery or IP cases and interacting with law enforcement
    • Managing networks and systems for both Windows and Unix platforms
    • Assessing ecommerce and brick-and-mortar environments
  • Proficiency with:
    • Coding or scripting (Python and VBScript/PowerShell are a plus, but it’s more about concept than actual language)
    • Exploiting security holes and then fixing them, but only when you had permission to do so
  • Familiarity with the payment card (PCI DSS, PA-DSS, P2PE, PFI), financial (GLBA, SOX, SSAE 16), health care (HIPAA/HITECH) or higher education industries
  • Willingness to get certified in any of the following:
    • Security and IT certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, CISA)
    • Technical certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, etc.)
    • Related industry certifications (e.g., QSA, PA-QSA)
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations like OWASP, InfraGard, ISSA or the like
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Ability to:
    • Travel domestically and internationally
    • Pass a federal background check
