Position Description

The hotel Breakfast Attendant position reports directly to the Assistant General Manager/General Manager and is responsible for preparing and serving the daily complimentary breakfast,  greeting each guest and ensuring that guests are 100% satisfied.

Expectations
  • Ability to report to work on time and on schedule.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form.
  • Ability to learn, follow and enforce food handling/service procedures and standards.
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures and standards and capable of appropriate response to emergency situations.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of hotel brand standards

Schedule and Working Conditions
  • Incumbent will perform their duties at the hotel property.
  • The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Host/Hostess
    • Provide personalized service to all guests.
    • Set up and maintain the breakfast buffet in an attractive abundant-looking, organized, clean and standardized presentation.
    • Take inventory of food, beverages and supplies needed for each day.
    • Order and/or purchase food supplies.
    • Prepare foods such as cut fruit, coffee and juices from concentrates.
    • Stock coffee, juice and milk machines or dispensers.
    • Set up serving dishes/trays, utensils, cups and other paper products.
    • Set out/arrange cold food such as sweet rolls, muffins, and cereal for self service.
    • Clear and clean tables as they are vacated.
    • Wipe up spills.
    • Remove trash.
    • Restock self-service food and supplies as needed.
    • Wash serving equipment and return it to storage.
    • Return reusable food supplies to storage.
  • Grooming:  All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
  • Safety and Security:  Support the hotel management staff in creating and reinforcing a workspace culture that emphasizes safety and security, specifically:
    • Recognize, report, and correct conditions which may create security and safety hazards.
    • Understand and adhere to policies and procedures for the hotel’s key control system.
    • Participate in on-going safety training.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED BY THE GM .
