We are seeking a Mental Health Therapist.

In this important role, you will be responsible for providing services for our School Based Program seeing all ages of youth and providing services related to the delivery of care to assigned clients at the designated school location. You will provide consultation services to the school staff to support the overall goals of the school.

Mental Health Therapist (Social Services / Social Work / Nonprofit / Human Services)

Job Responsibilities

With your background in social services, social work, nonprofit and/or human services as our Mental Health Therapist, you will be providing direct services to include intake assessment, individual / family / group therapy and crisis interventions to assigned clients. In addition, you will be providing services both on-site at the school facility and off-site to include the client’s home-support network.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining regular contact with the parent / guardian of each client; completing master treatment plans, treatment plan updates and managed care authorizations
  • Furnishing required reports to DHMH, legal system and other involved agencies
  • Attending regularly scheduled staff meetings at the clinic and Student Services Team meetings at the school
  • Providing consultation for school staff regarding issues including classroom observation and appropriate service determination
  • Assisting in the development of Parent Education curriculum, provides training and support for parents; and assisting the school in organizing activities
  • Providing appropriate In service training to school staff; developing support groups for students as needed
  • Participating in the collection of necessary information and student outcomes data to be used for monitoring the overall performance and effectiveness of services provided
  • Participating in after-hours call schedule for the clinic; providing complete and timely documentation to support services rendered
  • Maintaining 70% direct service requirement
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


Mental Health Therapist (Social Services / Social Work / Nonprofit / Human Services)

You must have a Masters’ degree from an accredited University or College and be licensed in the State of Maryland to provide services as an LGPC, LCPC, LGSW or LCSW-C. You will also need at least 1-2 year of supervised experience in a mental health setting or licensed in the State of Maryland as a Registered Nurse with one year of supervised experience in a the same field setting, Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselors and Psychiatrist.   • Must possess a strong knowledge of the common diagnoses and treatments for school-aged children and possess the skills necessary to facilitate positive change in a school environment
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking therapist encouraged to apply

  • Ability to deal effectively with clients, staff and outside agencies
