Job Description

LAC Group is seeking a permanent Senior Research Specialist, Client Development for our client, a well-respected international law firm.  This position supports the research needed for client development and retention initiatives of the firm and individual practice groups.   This role serves as a business “customer-service" contact for attorneys by either providing research support directly or coordinating with other team members to ensure services are provided efficiently and effectively.  This position is open to work in either the firm’s Washington, DC or New York City office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as the go-to department resource for research; creating and implementing a training curriculum for all new department hires; overseeing the ongoing training of junior staff; and acting as an informal supervisor for all things research-related within the department;
  • Responsible for coordination and execution of initial research training for all new department hires, as well as ongoing supplemental training;
  • Responsible for sensitive research projects, including the execution of competitive intelligence profiles;
  • Will work autonomously on initiatives, including (but not limited to): working with the Finance Department to ensure that the Client Development Department is capturing and effectively using internal data for business development purposes, and others;
  • Oversees and delegates assignments to a more junior member of the department and provides guidance to all Client Development Specialists regarding research projects;
  • Contributes to the firm's Service Excellence initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally. Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.

Job Requirements


  • BA/BS Degree is required;
  • 5-7 years of experience in legal, technology, management, or a market analysis environment;
  • Strong multitasking and project management skills and demonstrated capabilities to manage multiple deadlines and changing project criteria;
  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Suite software as well as West Monitor Suite, Hoovers, EDGAR, PACER, Senate Office of Public Records (SOPR) and Lexis/Nexis, among other tools;
  • Ability to work quickly, and with great attention to detail;
  • Superior oral and written communications skills, including professional presentation abilities, with demonstrated excellence in grammar and proofreading;
  • Demonstrates initiative and vision.   This position requires independent thinking and execution.
