Our Facilities Engineering Department is currently seeking candidates to join our growing team.

Responsibilities include:  

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients.

This Facilities Services Department position supports Wexner Medical Center and university goals.

Systems and equipment are operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This position is subject to callback.

POSITION SUMMARY 
Contributes strategic vision and serves as the top-level technical contributor in the planning, development, implementation, functionality and evaluation of building automation systems that support, enhance and ensure effective, safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations of mechanical systems and equipment, building controls and utilities for the Medical Center. Acts as the principle resource for building automation operational oversight; daily operation and management of mechanical, HVAC and electrical systems and components; assess and resolve issues with controls, and building automation; write and install programs that resolve HVAC related issues; manage/participate in the equipment commissioning process; develop and monitor energy saving processes; as well as optimize and maintain the operation of the various HVAC systems throughout the Medical Center. Serves as the primary contributor and consultant for building automation systems across 6+ million square foot of acute care, ambulatory, clinical, business, academic, and laboratory healthcare space both on and off campus.  This position manages assigned operations and capital funds and monitors utility budgets.  This position provides direction and oversight to the operational team. Consults on major initiatives and projects, including multiple departments, service lines, platforms, and various administrative interfaces regarding the integration of business automation systems with the overall business. Responsible for the analysis, testing and implementation of the most complex business automation systems and solutions. Acts as a subject matter expert on business automation systems strategies, procedures, policies and methodologies.  Provides direction and insight to leaders, peers and team members regarding the identification and alignment of strategic business automation systems requirements with evolving business opportunities and needs. This position also may respond to emergency situations, such as electrical and mechanical system outages, and may assist with evaluation of and correction of problems.

Job Requirements

-Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Information Science or equivalent combination of education and related engineering experience
-8 years of experience in BACnet systems to include complex building HVAC system applications and engineering,  LANs commands/configurations, alarming, scheduling, proprietary interfaces, integration and system management, PC operation and workstation software; network training and/or experience working with network configurations and troubleshooting; broad knowledge of a variety of Direct Digital Control systems; knowledge of UPS and Management Cards and set up; knowledge and hands on experience of Servers; knowledge of Switch Programming and IP infrastructure/networks.
