Job Description

The Maplewood Care Center is seeking a FT Assistant Director of Nursing with experince in Long Term Care.

The primary purpose of the Assistant Director of Nursing Services is to assess, plan, implement and coordinate the clinical care program in conjunction with the Director of Nursing Services to ensure the highest quality of care is maintained at all times.  The Assistant Director of Nursing Services will also supervise the day to day nursing activities in accordance to compliance with current Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility as well as responsible to support, mentor and empower the nursing staff according to the nurse practice act.

  1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently registered with the State of Board Examiners for Registered Nurses.  Current CPR certification.
  2. Registered Nurse with minimum of two (2) years experience in nursing supervisory or nursing management in a long-term care setting.
  3. Other Skills and Abilities Required:

¨         Demonstrates knowledge of gerontology, rehabilitative, and medical-surgical nursing care.

¨         Ability to effectively manage staff, act as a team player and serve as a resource to staff.

¨         Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for long-term care.

¨         Ability to work with other disciplines as a team player.  Knowledge of RAI process, Case Mix, and Medicare.

¨         Understanding of current Infection Control and OSHA guidelines.

¨         Knowledge of CQI theory and process.

¨         Ability to prioritize and complete assigned duties within a constantly changing environment.

¨         Knowledge of long-term care requirements for documentation, communication system(s) to address resident condition changes.

¨         Professional attitude, high degree of self-motivation and leadership qualities.

¨         Customer service oriented with knowledge of successful customer service techniques.

¨         Understanding of corporate compliance, and abuse prohibition.

¨         Able to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents, family members, the public and representatives of various regulatory agencies.

¨         Able to evaluate reports, programs, systems and other data against both judgmental and verifiable criteria.

¨         Able to handle stressful situations.  Able and willing to work flexible hours.

¨         Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
