We are currently looking for a Benefits and Compensation Analyst to join our home office in Southfield, MI.

 

This position is responsible for administration and analysis of the company benefit and compensation programs. Specific duties include research and analysis of benefit and compensation plan data for purposes of monitoring performance, cost control, making recommendations for education/communication initiatives and plan design changes. Also responsible for ensuring compliance with all benefit and compensation related regulations and reporting requirements. In addition, this position will support the bi-weekly, multi-state payroll processing function.



Essential functions include but are not limited to:
  1. Conduct research and analysis of benefit and compensation plan data for purposes of monitoring performance, controlling costs, ensuring competiveness, and making recommendations for education and communication initiatives as well as plan design changes
  2. Ensures compliance with all governmental regulations (federal and state) as related to benefit and compensation plan administration. Specifically, ERISA, HIPAA, PPACA, FMLA, FLSA, and COBRA
  3. Respond to benefit and compensation market data surveys
  4. Extraction of data and compiling of meaningful reports from our HRIS/benefit system to support benefit and compensation plan administration
  5. Assist with the plan administration and communication of the 401k and Non-qualified Deferred Comp Plans. Coordination of the plan annual audit and filing of Form 5500 and Form 8895-SSA
  6. Research and respond to complex benefit questions from Associates

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree required. Concentration in Human Resources, Finance, or Accounting preferred.  Human Resources, benefits, or compensation certification a plus
  2. Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in benefits, compensation or equivalent human resources area.  Experience working in health and welfare benefits agency role is a plus
  3. Must possess knowledge of various benefit regulations, including Section 125, COBRA, FMLA, HIPPA, IRS, and FLSA regulations
  4. Knowledge and experience in working with HRIS/payroll systems
  5. Must be highly proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point and internet research
  6. Must possess a strong work ethic
  7. Must possess a high level of thoroughness and accuracy
  8. Excellent communication and organization skills required
  9. Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills required
  10. Must possess the ability to research complex questions and issues and recommend courses of action
  11. Must possess strong proficiency in all mathematic calculations and reasoning
  12. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and be effective in planning and setting priorities.  Must be able to manage several tasks simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
