As a Technical Service Specialist you will be responsible to provide assistance to customers and authorized service agencies by means of phone support, training seminars and written communication (service bulletins and manuals) and work closely with the Sales Department to increase chain sales by providing customer support to improve customer satisfaction, representing the Garland product lines. Garland designs, manufactures and markets a full line of commercial ranges, ovens, griddles, grills and commercial counter top cooking equipment and induction equipment.

Reporting directly to the Technical Service Manager, this position is based in Cleveland, Ohio.

• Represent the manufacturer in a professional manner both in the office and in the field

• Interfaces with customers and service agencies 

• Admin Duties include: Review of pre-authorizations and concessions, conduct customer service surveys and organize and track product upgrades.

• Interface with customers and service agencies

• Provide technical support for customers and factory authorized service agencies on the repair of commercial cooking equipment

• Support Service Agencies with technical & logistic issues

• Provides weekend and afterhours technical phone support. (Rotating Schedule) 

Job Requirements


• Technical diploma with a minimum of 2 years industrial equipment technical service experience or High School diploma with a minimum of 5 years experience in industrial equipment technical service required

• Must be available for 24 hour on-call duty for a minimum of one week every 5 weeks, including weekends

• Foodservice experience a plus

• Must be able to read wiring schematics and/or ladder diagram

• Knowledge in electrical components a plus

• Must be able to sit and communicate via telephone for 8+ hours a day

• Must be technically adept and willing to learn product line to assist in resolving technical issues by phone and email and have the skills to communicate resolutions

• Must be able to maintain accuracy and maintain a positive and professional demeanor

• MS Office skills including Word and Excel necessary

• Must be available for 24 hour on-call duty for a minimum of one week a month, including weekends

• Foodservice experience a plus

• Extensive on the job training provided; minimal travel required during training

*Manitowoc Foodservice – Cleveland, Ohio specializes in the design and manufacturing of steam cooking equipment, including combi cooking equipment, ovens and rotisseries, convection steamers, cook/chill systems.   The facility in Cleveland is a part of the Manitowoc Foodservice division – parent company, The Manitowoc Company, Inc.
