The Fleet Manager has direct oversight of all service and safety related functions for an assigned fleet of non-union drivers, with a strong focus on operations efficiency.

  • Direct the inbound and outbound activities of your fleet to ensure that performance standards and productivity objectives are met according to established metrics
  • Ensure full compliance with administrative policies and Federal and State regulatory compliance measures to mitigate safety risks and overall costs
  • Build positive relationships with drivers to best maximize retention levels, increase on-time delivery percentages, and achieve top-tier customer service
  • Confirm that each driver has an adequate understanding of all customer and company expectations on each load at the point of dispatch
  • Resolve all driver conflicts, problems and requests with respect to matters such as home time, pay, equipment maintenance, and load assignments
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, distribution, and retention of necessary reports


Job Requirements

    • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
    • High degree of initiative and independent execution
    • Ability to evaluate alternatives in order to make the best overall decisions based on KPI metrics, service requirements, freight needs, economical factors, customer relations, and driver availability
    • Some knowledge of time/distance geography preferred
    • Integrity and dependability
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; familiarity with AS/400 operating system preferred
    • Ability to handle high volumes of inbound email
