Responsibilities (include but not exclusive to the following):

Use your strong Customer Service skills and insurance knowledge to service, retain and account round existing and new multi-state clients according to USI’s best practices and standards. Working with a large book of business in a fast-paced, highly-automated and strong team environment, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Interfacing with customers via telephone, written correspondence, fax, and/or electronic mail to respond to inquiries and answer insurance related questions
  • Actively listening and identifying clients needs or requests/concerns that are related to their personal insurance needs
  • Using interpersonal communication skills to engage and develop relationships with USI’s clients and carrier underwriters
  • Serving as a training resource and mentor to others, particularly new hires. Sharing best practices and offering suggestions for achieving company goals
  • Maintaining strong knowledge of all company products and features to assess risks and make quality underwriting decisions

Job Requirements


Strong  experience with homeowners, auto and other Personal Insurance related products (estimated 2+ years). Independent Insurance Agency experience a plus; High School Degree or equivalent is required. Current Texas General Lines Property Casualty license is required.

Must be available to work shifts Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must also have:

  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, including using multiple software applications
  • Ability to handle a large book of business and have working knowledge of carrier contracts, systems and services including strong technical skills including coverage terms & conditions
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to resolve issues or offer solutions with a high degree of accuracy and follow through
  • Excellent detail orientation, team orientation, customer service/sales orientation including account rounding is required
  • Insurance market familiarity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent phone etiquette and active listening skills
