NESCO Professional Services has immediate need for a Director of Procurement and Materials for a client of ours in Stanford, KY.  This is a Direct Hire position.

 

Accountability Objective:

 

Director of Procurement and Materials will report to the Chief Operating Officer and assume an integral role in efficient and cost effective negotiation and purchasing of raw materials used in manufacturing, sourcing and procurement of finished goods.

 

While ensuring outstanding departmental leadership and staff development of Production Scheduling, Production Control Materials Staff, the Director of Procurement and Materials will drive departmental efficiencies to meet business objectives and troubleshooting, identifying, implementing and managing process improvement projects throughout the Materials arena to maximize effectiveness and improve profitability

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience

 

  • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience in purchasing, packaging, printing and chemicals.
  • Proven knowledge of and experience in logistics and/or Production/Inventory Control while working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in maintaining minimum inventory management systems philosophy and tools required.
  • Demonstrated ability of small group leadership, team building and developing a culture of respect and commitment to never ending improvement.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and experience to develop and implement customer-focused logistics support strategy that improves quality, cost and response time by removing waste desired.
  • Experience and thorough understanding of MRP systems and other PCIC concepts
  • Ability to be able to successfully complete designated selection assessments.                                   
  • Ability to train other workers as it relates to the requirements and standards of the organization
  • Independent and team work traits as required in fast paced work environment
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, interpersonal skills, and ability to resolve problems on a professional level
  • Ability to hold confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain organization.
  • Strong conceptual thinking abilities
  • Ability to travel on overnight business trips as required (Corporate Paid - less than 20% travel)

 

Education/Certification:

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience is preferred
  • APICS Certification, preferred (CSCP or CPIM)
