Ralphs Grocery Company is now accepting applications for MANAGEMENT TRAINEE!

 

Ralphs Grocery Company is a major retail grocer operating several different and exciting formats in 230 stores throughout the State of California. Ralphs follows the traditional grocery supermarket format, which includes a number of upscale stores that carry a variety of specialty products including soup bars, coffee and tea cafes, as well as expanded wine and liquor offerings. Ralphs also operates a number of warehouses and distribution centers in the greater Los Angeles area as well as Riverside, California.

RALPHS CO - MANAGER

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for assisting the Store Manager in maximizing sales, controlling shrink and expenses (both labor and non-payroll) in order to achieve the company goals. The Co-Manager is knowledgeable of all the functions of the Store Manager and assists in those functions on an ongoing basis and accepts full responsibility for the Store Manager’s functions in his/her absence.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.   Responsible for sales/shrink/controllable expense, and achieving planned store goals.

2.   Supervise all store personnel.

3.   Train Grocery Manager, Front End Manager, Sales Manager, and other store department managers.

4.   Monitor administration of all safety programs.

5.   Assist with implementing training programs for all associates to ensure job knowledge and skills needed for advancement and promotion.

6.   Active participant in public relations activities at store level.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

       High school diploma is mandatory.

       Bachelor’s degree in Business, or other related field, is mandatory.

       Ability to assume responsibility for the direction of the store. 

       Understand merchandising principles.

       Knowledge of all procedures regarding the general operation of a grocery store.

       Ability to communicate effectively with customers, store personnel, and all levels of management.

       Read, write, speak and understand English.

       Willing to work varied hours, including weekends, nights and holidays.

       Ability to make decisions under fast paced conditions.
