Job Description


General Healthcare Resources, an established leader in the professional healthcare staffing industry, is in need of a qualified Occupational Therapist in suburban Washington DC.  You will provide therapy services to children who demonstrate a functional inability to perform in an educational environment.

Some of the responsibilities of the position include:

Knowledge of theory in pediatric occupational therapy.
Knowledge of emotional and physical disabilities of children.
Ability to evaluate functional performance of children in an educational setting.
Ability to provide individual or group therapy.
Ability to provide information through written and oral reports.
Ability to consult with other professionals.

Some of the major responsibilities include:

* Evaluation:

The identification of the student's deficits and needs in order to plan an occupational therapy program.

* Program planning:

The determination of an appropriate occupational therapy program that is coordinated with the student's total education program.

* Program delivery:

The implementation of an occupational therapy program designed to enhance the student's functioning and to enable to the student to benefit from special education.

* Consultation:

Provide training and information for school personnel and parents, which enables them to be more effective with the student.

* Management and supervision:

To plan, supervise, and direct occupational therapist assistant as needed to implement occupational therapy services for the school or school system.

This is a FULL TIME position through the end of the school year.  It can be a permanent hire or a Temp-to-Perm placement.

Job Requirements


* Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
* Certification from the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapist (NBCOT).
* Possession of a current (or temporary) Maryland State license as an Occupational Therapist.
* Must pass a company-paid Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening.
