Department Supervisor & On-Premise Supervisor
Utilizing broad-based skills in basic patient care, ancillary services, and business office practices, provides assistance to physicians in accordance with physician/facility policies and procedures.
Under the direction of a physician, instructs patients on basic information regarding disease/condition management, examinations, special tests, procedures, or home/self care.
May perform various business office or ancillary services procedures related to the basic care of patients.
Acts as liaison between the patient/family and the physician, hospital, medical staff, or outside agencies involved with the patient care.
Documents observations, actions, and patients outcomes per established policies and procedures.
Serves as a patient advocate by maintaining patient confidentiality, protecting patient rights, and resolving concerns or complaints regarding care of service.
Assists in the development of new policies, procedures, programs, systems, materials, and techniques.
Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical emergencies.
Participates in quality improvement and outcome study activities, and educational opportunities that will improve patient care.
Under orders of the physician, administers immunizations and medications by any route except intravenous.
Assists in resolution of patient problems following established protocols.
Assists physician with diagnostic, therapeutic, or surgical procedures within the scope of practice. Assesses and treats minor health problems and performs various routine tests under the direction of a physician.
Collects and reports patient health data following established protocols.
Prepares patient for tests, evaluation, or treatment.
Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provides appropriate service and to ensure safety of patients.
