Job Description

Position Purpose:   To supervise and ensure the team operates in an efficient and productive manner. To coordinate and communicate production processes on a daily basis to all relevant parties in a manner that supports BVF’s strategic plan and maximizes business results.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Supervise manufacturing operations in a sound, cost-effective manner while meeting and exceeding plant’s operational goals & objectives. Ensure that all policies and procedures in the areas of quality, safety, and GMP regulations are implemented accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and timely production and GMP records in compliance to all regulatory audits.
  • Track and monitor required supplies needed for the manufacturing of product.
  • Ensure employees are trained and perform effectively. Coach employees in all areas, such as, performance, productivity, quality, safety, GMPs, HACCP, SQF, Attendance and any other area needed.


Daily / Periodic Tasks

Schedules workforce in support of the daily production schedule.

Daily - Process and approve all labor hours in Kronos and ensure all temp hours are entered into the Daily Labor Report.

Ensure a quality and safe work environment for all employees. Coach employees on a daily basis. Complete Daily leadership Audits for Safety.

Collaborate and supervise daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules with other departments and subordinates.

Track and ensure appropriate levels of raw inventories are in place to meet production requirements. Communicate with all departments as needed to ensure that production is on track.

Guide, coach, and develop subordinates in a worker-friendly team environment that rewards performance with respect and trust.

Maintain high level of knowledge in production and sanitation processes.

Schedule and meet with external vendors as necessary.

Job Requirements

Key Competencies

Able to read, analyze, and interpret company policies, general business periodicals, technical procedures, professional journals, and / or government regulations. Able to write business correspondence, procedure manuals, and other reports as needed. Ability to effectively answer questions from hourly employees, supervisors, Managers, and Directors or any other customer / client as required to meet business needs.

Ability to lead , model the company’s culture and values, providing guidance and direction to direct reports, influencing and directing others while maintaining integrity, fostering teamwork, and encouraging open dialogue in an open door environment. Ability to manage change, accepting the challenges involved in transitioning the organization.

Ability to work in a Production environment and identify continuous improvement processes within your scope of responsibilities to enhance the company’s goal.


Proficient in GMP; Experience with FDA, USDA, SQF, OSHA,  MSDS and other chemical regulations.  General knowledge of other food-related Regulatory and Environmental Agencies.

High Diploma required .  Bachelor's Degree in Business, Quality, Engineering, or related field is strongly preferred.

Must have at least 5 years of working experience and a minimum of 3 years in a Supervision / Management Role

Experience in SAP is strongly preferred.

Physical Activity / Working Conditions 


Walking, sitting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs. Able to lift 10 lbs on a regular basis, frequently lift 20 lbs, and able to lift 50 lbs on occasion.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and able to navigate through email and internet.
