Job Description

Red Bridge Consulting Group is currently looking for a Market Development Manager for a full time position with one of our clients.  We do not work with third parties. We cannot work with candidates that require sponsorship.


General Purpose of the Market Development Manager Position:

The Market Development Manager is a key position responsible for motivating, training and developing talent within the Market Development team and managing the team’s creation and cultivation of qualified Manufacturing and Supply Chain sales opportunities which will significantly contribute to the sales pipeline and software license revenue targets. This role is very “hands-on” and is intended for a self-motivated, creative, driven candidate, who is capable of effectively leading a team.  This individual should also be able to effectively communicate with executive level prospects, understanding their complex operational challenges and delivering value through positively positioning company’s solutions. The ideal candidate will be required to:

  • Work tightly with Sales Leadership to identify market segment strategy, target accounts, and contacts and contribute to campaign strategy.
  • Work closely with Market Development personnel and Sales Executives to strategize and execute target account selling
  • Work closely with  the Marketing organization to identify support requests and provide Voice of Customer information for future marketing campaigns.
  • Develop and provide productivity and effectiveness metrics and analysis to Sales Management regarding Market Development performance.
  • Identify, research, and cultivate prospects within core Manufacturing and Supply Chain industries.
  • Understand and provide training on company’s core competencies, relevant industry references, competitive landscape and value proposition to effectively overcome objections and create momentum and interest in solutions.
  • Understand and provide training on how to navigate a prospect’s operational structure to identify areas of need and decision making authority.


Market Development Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Penetrate target organizations using phone, email, and networking strategies. 
  • Follow up on inbound inquiries, including but not limited to website hits, web seminar registrants, conference attendees etc.
  • Identify stakeholders, profile requirements/pain points.
  • Capture and document Voice of the Customer (VOC)
  • Schedule executive level meetings with target organizations.
  • Support sales executives through entire sales process.
  • Travel periodically to support follow up activity as prospects are brought through the process (less than 25% travel)
  • Accurately document all activities in company’s CRM for pipeline reporting and database capture.




Job Requirements

Market Development Manager Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in motivating/enabling an organization to action.
  • Capability of understanding  manufacturing/plant floor processes, quality management processes, supplier management and related systems
  • Quick learner, demonstrated ability to adapt to new industries, new terminology


Experience Requirements:

  • Proven track record of success in leading and managing an inside sales team.



Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree  


Market Development Manager Compensation:

Competitive base salary plus variable compensation based on performance against defined metrics and paid quarterly.
