Responsible for the installation, layout, monitoring, and maintenance of all network, security, and IT infrastructure components. Plan, design, analyze, and provide technical support for data and telephony communications network and IT infrastructure. Conduct research and evaluation of network and IT infrastructure technology and recommend purchases of network and IT infrastructure equipment and services. Train and supervise other network support specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.

Analyze and resolve technical problems for established network.
Support of moderately complex voice and data networking equipment and devices.
Serve as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies which will require on-call rotation.
Troubleshoot and resolve network and security production problems.
Plan, test, recommend, and implement network and security hardware and software.
Escalate high severity issues and chronic problems to appropriate management level.
Install, configure and maintain network and security components.
Networking including LAN, MAN, WAN, VoIP and Wireless protocols.
Conduct technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system.
Research technical manuals and brochures to determine equipment which meets establishment requirements.
Confer with vendors to evaluate and validate hardware, firmware, software, and telecommunications equipment and recommend procurement in coordination with department and organization standards.
Recommend network solutions for short-, medium-, and long-range network projects.
Work with vendors to resolve complex network problems and to learn about new data communications technology.
Assist in the support of all aspects of North America IT facilities as applicable to the region, which includes data center, communication rooms, video conferencing, access control, printer network connectivity, HVAC/UPS, cabling, wireless, and related services.
Analyze traffic and workload for optimum network performance to ensure organization's objectives are met.
Recommend corrective actions in order to ensure high quality, efficient network performance.
Oversee or assist in on-site installation of communications hardware.
Effective communications with users, vendors and internal customers.

Strong knowledge of tools and techniques employed in supporting enterprise networks.
Education & Experience
College degree from accredited university (Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science preferred).
5+ years of experience in the field.
Travel to sites in North America will be required.
