Job Description

  • 3 to 5 years of experience required
    Responsible for the overall management of the stroke program ensuring on-going quality of care delivered to the stroke patient from admission through patient disposition. Executes PI initiatives in order to promote optimal stroke care. Provides assistance to staff conducting stroke alert overseeing quality measures. Monitors all patient care documentation to include ED documentation (including ED nurses notes, ED order sets or pathway documentation, ED physician notes, ED record, ED triage sheet, Registration form, ED vital signs graphical record)

Job Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing is required.
  • Must have at least three years clinical or hospital nursing with two years of supervisory/charge experience in nursing.
  • Work experience with the operation of personal computers and Microsoft Office software is expected.
  • Experience as a Stroke Coordinator or Stroke Manager is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Comprehensive Stroke Center guidelines.
    Must possess a current license to practice Registered Nursing in the State of Texas. Current training in Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) is required.
