Job Description

This position supports the Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development in all areas of strategic planning & business development relative to developing, directing and communicating business and strategic plans to benefit new or expanded clinical, advocacy, research, education, foundation and business opportunities.

Position Duties

1. Continual review and reporting of market and financial data reflecting the opportunities for clinical growth for PCH. Proactively communicates challenges and issues.
2. Develops and sustains relationships within key departments at PCH to facilitate two-way communication concerning opportunities and threats within the organization and outside.
3. Develops job requirements and goals for the department. Performs periodic performance reviews and maintains compliance with PCH’s performance management policies and procedures.
4. Develops knowledge and professional skills through cross training, literature and attendance at department meetings.
5. Develops talent within the department. Coaches current staff and develops necessary skills to assist the organization properly.
6. Develops new and refines existing analytical techniques and resources to enable effective business planning, including market forecasting, competitive intelligence and financial analysis.
7. Provides direct assistance in development and implementation of business plans and strategies for specific projects and divisions.
8. Directs the planning, design, measurement, assessment and improvement of the Strategic Planning and Business Services Department.
9. Directs the development and maintenance of a market intelligence database, including ongoing communication of specific opportunities or threats to Phoenix Children’s Hospital (“PCH”).
10. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

Job Requirements

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business administration. (Required)
  • Masters in Health Services Administration, MBA or related advance degree. (Preferred)
Experience Requirements
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting complex data and information in a planning and decision making process. (Required)
  • Strategic planning & business development experience with a children’s hospital. (Preferred)
Skill Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (written and oral). (Required)
  • Ability to effectively interact with a wide range of organizational levels. (Required)
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and comparative databases. (Required)
  • Strong relationship-building skills. (Required)

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and/or lead large, diverse, multidisciplinary teams. (Required)
