The Echo Tech II is responsible for processing and performing Cardiac ultrasounds on in and out patients; and maintaining the quality of the lab. The technician/technologist shall assure that all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated and appropriate quality assurance measures are taken. The technician/technologist is also responsible for assisting with and performing numerous Cardiology procedures.
Successful completion of an approved Echocardiography course and/or demonstrated expertise in the theory and techniques of Echocardiography studies including anatomy, pathology, and interpretation. At least two years previous experience performing Echocardiography examinations. Demonstrates the ability to function independently and be flexible. The technical staff must document at least 15 hours of echocardiography related continuing education over a period of three (3) years. All hours must be relevant to echocardiography. R.D.C.S. or R.C.S. and must be CPR certified.
