Summary:

The Manager on Duty is responsible for assisting in the management of the programs/floors of the CRC and overseeing this 50 bed shelter, ensuring client safety and quality service is delivered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, coordinate and support the Shelter Care Specialist to ensure proper staff coverage, proper youth care, use of the Family Teaching Model, documentation, maintenance of facilities structures, and DCFS licensing standards.
  • Assist in all aspects of the shelter care services provided to the youths.
  • Assist with the development, implementation and review of all plans for all youths according to the principles of the Family Teaching Model and good social work practice.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the various department within and external to the program, including with contract and licensing liaison.
  • Coordinate the transportation of clients to various appointments.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate intake and discharge of clients while on duty.
  • Participate in the 24-hour on-call rotation for any and all assistance to the program, respond to all calls and requests for assistance in a timely and proper manner according to the policies and procedures of the program, Aunt Martha’s and the Family Teaching model.
  • Complete all Core Curriculum training(s) required for this position.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • REQUIRED Masters Degree in DCFS acceptable field of study PLUS two years’ experience in residential AND two years of experience in management.
  • Evening and weekends are required.
  • Current Driver’s License and Auto Insurance.
  • Ability to work ALL shifts, holidays, and weekends.
  • Ability to transport clients in personal vehicle if necessary.
