Orthopedic Technician

Job Description

Job Summary:


The orthopedic Technician is responsible for assembling and maintaining orthopedic equipment and supplies throughout the hospital. Provide orthopedic care for patients in all patients care areas. Follows established procedures for charge items; ensures all charges are properly recorded and posted to patient accounts if indicated. Participates as a preceptor and or resource person for new technicians and assists in teaching students, RN and Residents. Applies proper and professional communications skills between personnel within the department and to other departments. Presents a personable and professional attitude to patients, their families and/or partners in care, physicians and staff.

Job Requirements

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
  • Previous hospital patient care experience required.
  • Orthopedic experience preferred.
License/Certification:
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
  • CPR required.
