Job Description

The mission of the American Red Cross is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. We help increase the preparedness of our communities by offering courses in First Aid, CPR/AED, Babysitter's Training, Lifeguard Training, Certified Nurse Aid Training and other certification courses.
We are currently seeking a high energy Business Development Executive with knowledge and experience in Territory Business Development.
Job Summary:
Reports to the Sales Manager and is responsible for profitable sales growth within assigned Divisional sales territory.  The Sales Representative III sells PHSS products and services to new customer accounts and/or increases revenue from growth of existing customers through face to face relationship building and outbound phone calls.  Prepares sales reports and participates in weekly sales meetings.  Works closely with fulfillment staff to ensure delivery of promised products.  This position also promotes and  sells other specialty PHSS product lines (AEDs).
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Sells PHSS products and services to corporate, government, or not for profit customers.  Seeks and acts upon leads and builds relationships with potential customers to bring them to close.
• Ensures productive and positive relationship with prospective customers.
• Explores and builds partner relationships with OneRedCross partners to develop and/or enhance business alliances (i.e. Chapter staff, Blood Services).
• Responsible for meeting assigned sales volume and profitability objectives.
• Responsible for operating within prescribed budget.
• Territory size:  annual revenue target greater than $500,000 but less than $750,000.

Job Requirements


• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent related experience required.  Related disciplines include Business, Sales, Marketing or Finance. 
• In addition, requires a minimum of 5+ years of successful experience, preferably in a sales and/or product marketing position.
• Knowledge of and experience in applying field sales techniques.
• Proven ability to manage large accounts.
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and demonstrated ability to utilize MS Office programs and Salesforce.com or similar client relationship management applications.
• Ability to travel 10-20%. Must have reliable transportation for regional travel.
