Job Description

Mac Papers is in search of a Senior Financial Analyst to support to the Vice President of Corporate Credit.

S/he will be primarily responsible for managing daily workflow and assist with the supervision of junior staff with the Corporate Credit Department.  Daily tasks include establishing lines of credit for consumable and equipment sales, receivables portfolio management, enforcing credit policy and providing credit support and training to personnel as necessary.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare financial analysis worksheet based on borrower’s financial statements
  • Perform searches for assets, liens, judgments, pending litigation UCC filings, mortgages, deeds, etc. utilizing the internet and legal data base
  • Verify corporate compliance with the Secretary of State, Department of Revenue and/or the Register of Deeds
  • Analyze borrower information, business financial statements, credit bureau, trade references, collateral, etc. to determine credit worthiness and assign appropriate credit terms and limits
  • Effectively communicate credit decisions to the borrower, branch personnel and management as required
  • Provide training and support to branch managers, sales staff and credit personnel
  • Assist the Vice President of Credit in the development of formal, written credit policies, procedures, training material, reporting, portfolio analysis, etc.
  • Develop collection and/or exit strategy to resolve distressed account balances
  • Partner with management, outside law firms, collection agencies regarding legal matters related to bad debt files

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years’ experience analyzing financial statements or underwriting in a commercial environment
  • Demonstrated  negotiation skills
  • Ability to prepare and interpret a financial analysis to determine credit worthiness
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in high volume, high pressure, time sensitive, team  environment
  • Ability to determine and maintain the appropriate balance between profitability and credit quality
  • Working knowledge of security instruments, legal documents, Fair Debt Collection Practices, bankruptcy proceedings.
