Job Description

This position is responsible for implementing communications, public relations programs for CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care’s (CSR) facilities, programs and services to support CSR’s strategic plan.  The position will assist with marketing projects and programs as needed.  This position is responsible for planning and implementing specific communication programs for and interfacing with CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Associates, volunteers, physicians, patients, board members, community and political leaders, state and local media representatives and the general public. The Manager will be privy to and is responsible for confidential corporate information, including strategic plans, financial information and risk management situations, in addition to patient information, and will be required to hold certain information in a confidential manner.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in, journalism, public relations, communications, or other related field. 


  • Requires five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in marketing, public relations, communications, advertising, or the media.  
  • Experience in a health care setting is a plus. 


  • None   


  • Requires computer skills in word processing and knowledge of Windows working environment. 
  • Requires ability to operate standard office equipment, including fax machines, printers, copiers, etc. 
  • Desk-top publishing experience is required, Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Requires ability to set priorities with little guidance and to manage multiple assignments at once.
  • Requires discreetness, the ability to remain calm in the face of deadlines and must work well with all levels of Associates. 


  • This position requires stationary tasks at desk/computer most of the day.  
  • Some walking and driving between hospital campuses is required, as well as transportation of displays and materials to and from special events. 
  • Some lifting is required (up to 10 lbs).
  • Majority of work is performed in clean, well-lit office.
  • Visits to patient floors within hospitals are required occasionally. 
  • May be called upon to participate in activities or respond to emergency situations beyond regular office hours. Must also successfully complete the pre-employment/post job offer health screening examination, and the annual screening each year thereafter as an employee.
