Job Description

P2 is seeking a Head Architect to lead an architecture review board, oversee high-level design, and to drive technical standards related to the integration of its product families.  As the Head Architect, you will provide leadership over the technical direction and interoperability for P2’s suite of products, both classic and next-generation.  You will help ensure the Company’s software architectures are scalable, able to be integrated, and are maintainable.  You will be the chair of the Architecture Review Board, which is comprised of appointees from all major product teams, and is chartered with overseeing major technical decisions including all inter-product integration architectures and decisions pertaining to the technology consolidation roadmap.  

 You will work closely with major product teams across four development sites located in Denver, Houston, Calgary, and Perth.  This is a highly collaborative position requiring multiple groups to move in concert to the architectures defined.  You will report directly to the Head of Software Development.  The position will be based in Denver or Houston.

Specific Responsibilities

Lead Technical Design and Interoperability Efforts

  1. Responsible for overseeing the definition of the API’s that span multiple product families
  2. Responsible for sharing architecture best practices and standards across product teams via team nominees to Architecture Review Board
  3. Responsible for overseeing major technical and architecture decisions
  4. Act as a senior sounding board for product teams across the company
  5. Responsible for the cooperation, participation, buy-in, and enthusiasm of the various development groups.

Chair Architecture Review Board (ARB)

  1. Lead and direct the ARB as well as grow the ARB’s influence in the organization
  2. Manage process for sharing and ensuring implementation of best practices across Development organization
  3. Oversee and collaborate with appointees to ARB


Job Requirements

Core Requirements

Work and Education Experience

  1. BS in Software Engineering or Computer Science from a top school
  2. 15+ years in enterprise application software development, with increasing levels of technical leadership
  3. At least 5 years of strong technical and architectural leadership
  4. Proven track record working across product teams in a technical capacity
  5. Experience with managing architectures in medium-sized (>200)  teams
  6. Strong experience in evaluating and acquiring 3rd party solutions

Technical Know-How

  1. Experience with legacy as well as state of the art software stacks (such as .Net, Java, Oracle, SQL Server, Python, Ruby on Rails, PHP, etc.)
  2. Demonstrated ability to successfully develop integration strategies for both legacy and new products
  3. Experience with modern software development tools and methodologies (such as Agile)
  4. Proven track record of meeting product delivery deadlines on-budget through implementation of repeatable processes for forecasting and project/program management
  5. Strong background designing solutions (software, hardware, and topologies) in a SaaS environment

  6. Proven ability to collaborate with other team members to successfully create and deliver on a product roadmap and architectural framework
