  • Provide technical training support as part of Bakery Technician Task Force at Walmart Stores. Function of role is to train Walmart Bakery store associates in assigned region on the standardized Walmart bakery operating protocol.
  • Train Walmart Bakery Associates on formalized Bakery execution protocol in stores in assigned region with specific emphasis on custom cake decoration.
  • Build relationships with key Walmart associates including Walmart Store Bakery Managers and associates, Walmart regional and district managers, Internal and External Lead Tech Team managers and Walmart Head Office Merchandising Operations lead.
  • Provide new store opening support as stores open in assigned region.
  • Remain up to date to changes to the Walmart Bakery operations plan and focus products and regularly communicate changes to store associates; including ensuring in-store SOP is up to date.
  • Provide weekly reports to manager outlining results of store visits, action steps and issues addressed.
  • Coordinate training regimen to ensure optimal store and associate trainings while minimizing travel costs.
  • Participate in regional/national Tech Task Force training updates
  • Assist Walmart home office staff as needed on demand basis for ‘special projects’

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, college degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years retail bakery experience, focusing on product training and in store bakery merchandising
  • Minimum 3 years cake decorating experience including design, preparing customer customized cake design, mass production, workstation set up and break down.
  • Minimum 1.5 years In-store Bakery cake decorating experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to explain the skills necessary to those who may have minimal experience in cake decorating
  • Experience working on teams
  • PC experience to include Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Overnight Travel - approximately 75%
