Local Unit & Position Description

DNV GL Oil & Gas is seeking a Pipeline Risk Engineer to join our Risk Management Team, developing and implementing risk assessment and management programs for Oil & Gas customers. This position is based out of our Dublin, OH office.


Tasks may include


  • ASSIST IN ANALYZING MULTIPLE SETS OF PIPELINE DATA USING EXCEL OR SPECIALIZED SOFTWARE PACKAGES
  • COMPLETE TECHNICAL PIPELINE ENGINEERING ASSESSMENTS (E.G. DEFECT ASSESSMENTS, CHANGE IN OPERATING CONDITIONS, CHANGE IN STRESS CONDITIONS)
  • ASSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RISK ASSESSMENT ALGORITHMS
  • ASSIST IN FACILITATED HAZARD IDENTIFICATION STUDIES 
  • WORK CLOSELY WITH CLIENTS TO ENSURE PROJECTS ARE RUN TO THEIR SATISFACTION AND REQUIREMENTS

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:  (MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION)


  • B.S. or M.S. in related engineering field
  • 0-5 Years’ experience
  • Excellent computational and English communication skills (both written and spoken)
  • Commitment to deliver detailed and quality work with minimum oversight
  • Willing to travel an estimated 25% of the year
  • Proven at developing creative solutions to complex problems
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership for projects and tasks
  • Willingness and ability to succesfully pass a pre-hire background check and drug screen


PREFERRED SKILLS (NOT REQUIRED):


  • PROGRAMMING EXPERIENCE IN VBA OR OTHER LANGUAGE
  • EXPERIENCE WITH DATABASES
  • WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF STATISTICS
  • PREVIOUS RISK ASSESSMENT EXPERIENCE
  • KNOWLEDGE OF PROCESS SAFETY MANAGEMENT FUNDAMENTALS
