One of the Southwest’s leading healthcare provider groups is seeking a hands-on Director of IT.  In this position you will establish plans, manage, and implement the overall IT projects and goals of the organization.  We are looking for someone who proactively approaches opportunities and seeks solutions. 

The position will have primary responsibility for all IT systems and HIPAA compliance.  Duties include but not limited to:  IT Infrastructure (Active Directory, Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, SQL Server databases, HL7 Interfaces, firewalls, remote access, email, file storage, network, wireless, phone system and computers)  and All Applications (Maintenance, support, enhancements, customizations and reports). Hands on management of planning, maintaining, and monitoring the IT infrastructure including, Desktop/laptop, server, network, printer, storage (scheduled replacements and upgrades), Telecommunications/voice services, mobile technologies, Security, backups and disaster recovery, Responsible for maintaining COLO servers.  Continually reviews and evaluates technology architecture to identify risks and propose improvements.  Remains knowledgeable of the latest technology trends and capabilities.  Develops, updates and maintains HIT security policies and procedures, and implements them.  Manages IT/Communication vendor relationships and monitors performance including.  Manages business application environment including; providing IT leadership for technology selection and implementation projects, ensures schedules, projects, and performance requirements are met, meets with department heads, managers, supervisors, and others, to solicit feedback on system enhancement requests. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 8+ years of IT Management experience. Healthcare IT Management experience preferred.
  • Prior experience managing and maintaining IT infrastructure including end user PCs, smart phones and devices, telephony and networking hardware (routers, firewalls, filters, etc.), application servers, data warehouse, SQL Server databases, HL7 Interfaces required, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
  • Microsoft development experience including Visual Studio and SQL Server
