Job Description

Southwest Kidney Institute is proud to have built our practice around providing the full spectrum of kidney health services including education, prevention and treatment, with a focus on early and ongoing management. Our team of board-certified nephrologists direct all aspects of kidney care, including early intervention, transplant support, dialysis services, and cutting edge clinical research. All of our services are done under one roof for everything from ultrasounds to clinical trials, so our patients receive one-stop treatment without referral to another clinic. We have offices throughout Arizona, linked by a state-of-the-art electronic medical record and patient portal.

We are currently seeking a hands-on Manager of IT to join our growing practice.

In this position you will establish plans, manage, and implement the overall IT projects and goals of the organization.  We are looking for someone who proactively approaches opportunities and seeks solutions. 

The position will have primary responsibility for all IT systems and HIPAA compliance.  Duties include but not limited to:  IT Infrastructure (Active Directory, Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, SQL Server databases, HL7 Interfaces, firewalls, remote access, email, file storage, network, wireless, phone system and computers)  and All Applications (Maintenance, support, enhancements, customizations and reports). Hands on management of planning, maintaining, and monitoring the IT infrastructure including, Desktop/laptop, server, network, printer, storage (scheduled replacements and upgrades), Telecommunications/voice services, mobile technologies, Security, backups and disaster recovery, Responsible for maintaining COLO servers.  Continually reviews and evaluates technology architecture to identify risks and propose improvements.  Remains knowledgeable of the latest technology trends and capabilities.  Develops, updates and maintains HIT security policies and procedures, and implements them.  Manages IT/Communication vendor relationships and monitors performance including.  Manages business application environment including providing IT leadership with technology selection and implementation. Ensures schedules, projects, and performance requirements are met, meets with department heads, managers, supervisors, and others, to solicit feedback on system enhancement requests. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 8+ years of IT Management experience. Healthcare IT Management experience preferred.
  • Prior experience managing and maintaining IT infrastructure including end user PCs, smart phones and devices, telephony and networking hardware (routers, firewalls, filters, etc.), application servers, data warehouse, SQL Server databases, HL7 Interfaces required, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
  • Microsoft development experience including Visual Studio and SQL Server
