Job Description

We are currently seeking a GIS Administrator for the Transportation-Infrastructure Practice in our Jacksonville, FL office.
The GIS Administrator manages the RS&H graphical information systems infrastructure and provides consulting services to Practice Leaders, Project Managers, and associates for GIS-related projects, tasks, and applications. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain the GIS Intranet Website (developing and editing functionality as needed), coordinate the development of custom applications in ArcGIS and ArcIMS, develop logical models, translate detailed design into computer software, test, debug, and refine the computer software to produce the required product, prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation; enhance software to reduce operating time and/or improve efficiency. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Enterprise Geodatabase Administration, automation of data back-up, conversion and update data for users and web application, experience designing, implementing, or working with ArcSDE, GIS server, or ArcIMS implementations, database design and programming skills, Net, Visual Basic or Java programming experience.

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Experience in working with clients/associates to define and document application requirements
• Provide consulting services for GIS-related projects, tasks, and applications
• Experience chairing a GIS Advisory Committee and GIS Users' Group
• Provide/coordinate GIS training
• Industry knowledge in transportation, municipal, county, aviation, and/or water/wastewater utility environments
• Experience in developing database driven applications utilizing either SQL Server or Oracle database platforms
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with Masters or Doctoral degree preferred in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• GISP certification
• 5-8 years of overall experience
• Experience using ESRI products developing applications in ArcGIS using including ArcObjects (preferred), Avenue, or MapObjects; modeling with ArcSDE; GIS Server or ArcIMS site development, implementations and maintenance
• Knowledge of and experience utilizing GIS Databases housed and maintained by Federal, State, and local governments
• Experience working on GIS projects requiring live access, deployment, analysis, graphical depiction of data
• Experience using and converting AutoCAD and/or Microstation files in ArcGIS
• Experience providing training for ESRI products with certification as an ESRI Authorized Instructor preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio
• Experience providing GIS presentations for in-house personnel and at GIS Conferences
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Studio.Net, Microsoft SQL Server, VB.NET, Visual Basic 6.0/for Applications/Scripts, ArcXML, GPS equipment/software/data, ArcGIS Enterprise Server
• ArcSDE/Geodatabase model experience, SQL-based preferred
• ArcIMS site development and maintenance
• Experience in web programming and design - HTML or Javascript; ASP and XML experience a plus
• Experience configuring and administering ArcGIS Online for Organizations
• Proactive and comprehensive troubleshooting and problem solving skills; self-motivated learner who continually keeps up to date with new technology; experience in public sector assignments preferred; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal English language proficiency
