Job Description

POSITION: 6700 Learning and Development Manager: Lexington, KY
LOCATION: Lexington, KY 40550
JOB TYPE: Contract, 1 year renewable
COMPENSATION: $35 per hour
HOURS: Mon-Fri 8am – 5pm
SmartSource has a 1 year renewable contract in Lexington, KY for a Learning Development Manager to have overarching responsibility in designing and developing training programs for impacted groups during a newly acquired company Integration period and cultivates performance improvement through training design and delivery. As a member of the IMO Change Management Workstream, the LDM will manage training plans and coordinate the training for all legacy employees as they are integrated into the company systems

Training program is deemed successful if it can answer the question: what can the learners do after training that they couldn’t do before?
The Learning & Development Manager is responsible for training, performance improvement and development. This will include partnering with key business leaders to consult on training needs, conducting thorough needs analyses, the ability to deliver training and or manage external vendors to deliver training, L&D strategy consultation, execution and measurement of the impact of learning.
Principal Responsibilities: Develops and executes learning and development strategy including: assessment and reengineering of existing programs, analysis of gaps and development of a platform that will provide learning and development opportunities throughout various career stages and levels Works with key business contacts to assess the needs of the business and develop, manage and execute comprehensive training plans - ensuring that these solutions and programs support business drivers and targets Develops and implements consistent methods and metrics to measure the effectiveness of development initiatives (i.e., strategies to measure ROI) Utilizes sound performance diagnostic techniques and consultative skills to drive interventions to improve organizational (not simply individual) performance Identifies strategies and solutions that are directly linked to organizational and business goals by establishing and maintaining partnerships with key business contacts, HR, and vendors to identify and drive performance improvement change Implements training projects employing blended instructional technology and solutions; including traditional classroom, web-based, and other forms of learning Proactively collaborates with all global colleagues responsible for drive learning and development Maintains and ensure accuracy of all L&D related information (i.e. website info, participation, cancellation rates etc.) Cultivate a climate that promotes learning and embraces and promotes change. Delivery of strategic learning initiatives such as "learning academies", leadership programs and capability development Maintains and ensure accuracy of all L&D related information (i.e. website info, participation, evaluations, cancellation rates etc.)
Experience 5 or more years of experience in Learning and Development Bachelor’s degree required Experience in global organizations is essential Breadth of experience in needs assessments, instructional design and delivery for multiple modalities (e.g., classroom, self-paced, virtual) A proven record of managing external vendors through the end-to-end process of program delivery Candidate should also demonstrate effective stand-up delivery / facilitation skills

Skills Ability to build strong relationships & working cross functionally at senior level Good commercial awareness & experience of leading business change Demonstrate a good understanding of organizational development strategies and the role learning & development plays in business improvement. Knows and has strong relationships with relevant and "best in class" external vendors Ability to work in conjunction with business content owners, to leverage core-curriculum offerings and provide appropriate tailored solutions The job requires the ability to guide, persuade and influence others through developed skills of communication and diplomacy. Ability to work independently or as part of a team Excellent communication skills
