Job Description

The Director, Information Technology  is responsible for overseeing the development, acquisition, implementation and support of information technology.  Strategic planning and participation in the development of the CORE business strategy is essential.  He/She will be responsible for  all technology , managing all technical staff and contractors and developing and overseeing all IT resource plans needed to advance  the technology  needs of the organization.   

The Director, Information Technology is also responsible for providing recommendations  to the CEO for technology related budgets including hardware, software, services, internal IT staff and contractors with a focus on selecting “best value” technology to meet the business objectives.  He/She will maintain up to date  knowledge to offer appropriate technology solutions in system implementation methodologies,  programming, network operations, hardware, server administration, database administration/report writing, project management, capacity planning, business continuity planning and security. 

He/She will maintain, audit and continuously improve security management to protect the organization’s information technology assets.   He/She will work closely with the CORE team to assure continuous training and operations of all  CORE information technology.

Job Requirements

While not limited to the following, the skills and experience below are critical to the job performance:

The Director must be a passionate, mission-driven leader and will possess current working knowledge and installation experience with modern technology from Microsoft operating systems and applications software, EMC VMware, Cisco Networks, Voice Over IP Telephony,Verizon Broadband and Cellular networks, mobile smart devices,  hardware vendor brands such as Wyse, Apple, Google, HP, Dell, IBM and web development technologies.

Business operations, call center, hospital ICU and OR clinical systems knowledge experience is highly desirable. Organ donor management process knowledge is preferred. 

Business Intelligence reporting-data analytics experience is highly desirable.

Ability to manage the installation, maintenance and support of conference room audio visual technology is required.

The Director must have a minimum of 5 years of supervisory/management experience; a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience preferrably in a healthcare setting.   The Director is required to have a minimum of 4 year degree or an individual who has attained the advanced knowledge through a combination of work experience and formal post-secondary education.

The Director’s skill will include managing  staff reporting to him/her. In addition, the Director will demonstrate the willingness to travel within the CORE Donor Service Area as well as designated approved CORE organization related travel.
