Dental Assistant – Office Medical Assistant (Bilingual / Spanish)

Job Responsibilities

As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist, set up equipment, prepare for treatment, and keep patient records.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that units are ready, stocked, and clean at the beginning of each appointment
  • Overseeing cleanliness of operatory
  • Assisting in other areas of the office when necessary (phones, unpacking supplies, confirming, moving dismissed patient records, etc.)
  • Loading, activating, and venting the sterilization unit according to the manufacturer’s directions
  • Maintaining equipment in the assigned treatment room and reporting all equipment failures and breakage to supervisor

    Job Requirements

    Successful candidates for the Dental Assistant role should display excellent customer service skills at all times. You must also show genuine concern and care for our patients. Someone who has the interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, other staff members, and the community would be a good fit for this role.

    Additional requirements of the Dental Assistant include:

    • High school diploma or equivalent certification
    • Graduation from an accredited program and/or experience, preferred
    • Compliance with state practice requirements (e.g., x-ray proficiency, OSHA training, etc.)
    • Course work in dental instruments and procedures
    • Proficient in computer skills
    • DANB certification
    • Current CPR certification
    • CDA, preferred
    • English/Spanish bilingual ability strongly preferred
