Job Description


The Senior Business Banker, responsible for an assigned geographic market or branch, will focus on business customers and prospects having annual sales revenue of $3 million to $10 million. This position will be located in Columbus, OH. Through the use of advanced sales and service skills and techniques, the Senior Business Banker will maximize the return on an existing book of business, as well as attract and acquire new clients to Business Banking. The Senior Business Banker will possess extensive product knowledge, advanced credit skills and will use a relationship approach to uncover financial needs of the customer and determine how best to satisfy those needs. The Senior Business Banker will operate within a broad risk context.



This dynamic and highly visible position will focus on:



  • Business Banking revenue generation, share of wallet expansion and customer loyalty

  • Strategic Partnerships and Referral Generation - Through a robust network of PNC partners, the Senior Business Banker will identify referral opportunities within their book of business and connect these clients with the appropriate partner, generating deeper relationships and revenue growth.

  • Risk Management - Support PNCs strong risk management culture through awareness, knowledge and sound decision making. Ensure operational and financial safety and soundness. Protect proprietary and confidential information.

  • Community Involvement - Active participation through relevant community or professional organizations as a way to develop networking contacts and relationships.

Skills and Abilities:



Required:



  • Must be able to read and understand financial statements and tax returns

  • Must be able to asses and analyze financial conditions of clients and industry trends

  • Strong working knowledge of credit structuring and processing, including credit analysis or financial analysis related to business lending. In house credit trained or successful completion of a formal credit training program

  • Demonstrated ability to meet the financial needs of the customer

  • Must be able to successfully complete all training programs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:



  • Proficient in technology, particularly mobile technology, and ability to demonstrate products and services via technology

  • Ability to demonstrate examples of improving specific businesses financial outcomes by interpreting financial statements and recommending specific financial solutions

  • Strong presentation skills utilizing technology

  • Strong knowledge of credit product types, loan structuring and pricing concepts

  • Advanced sales management, new business development and sales skills

  • Highly effective communication and influencing skills

  • Current experience in a similar role with a large regional or national financial institution

  • Ability to identify and manage risk within the portfolio

  • Ability to cross-sell products leveraging proven sales techniques

  • Advanced portfolio management skills clients

Qualifications needed for this role:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, preferred.

  • 5 or more years of sales or relationship management experience in financial services, 4+ years in business banking sales

  • In lieu of education, an additional four years of progressively responsible relevant experience may offset the degree requirement, required.

  • Some local travel may be required
