The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing projects related to the selection, development, deployment, and support of new and existing applications to meet the current and future needs of the business. 

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Serve as the project manager for the analysis, design, development, implementation, support of business applications including customer requirements and customer satisfaction.
  • Build, develop, and maintain business and vendor relationships that are vital to the success of the programs/projects and the company.
  • Monitor and track the progress of each project.  Communicate prioritization, delivery status and issues/escalations.
  • Track and facilitate project issue resolution.
  • Ensure projects and change requests are prioritized, tracked, and communicated in a consistent and effective manner to ensure the alignment of project deliverables with customer expectations.
  • Facilitate the application development life cycle providing appropriate guidance to other team members.
  • Prepare project release plans and schedules for applications development, enhancement, and maintenance efforts.  Work with key business personnel, other development and testing teams to coordinate activities.
  • Serve as the primary project team contact with user groups and management.
  • Participate in leading the consolidation and conversion of systems and data when necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with internal customers, as appropriate, to ensure the delivery of high quality systems that meet the customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, frequently speaking and hearing, and occasionally standing, walking, bending, crawling, kneeling and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional travel
  • Use of a PC, computer, and/or telephone.
  • Ocassional long, irregular hours based on project demands

Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio.
  • Lead, delegate, and mentor others.
  • Interact with all levels of employees and management.
  • Make decisions based on many variables.
  • Strong written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, especially conveying complex information in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to conduct formal and informal presentations in both small-and large-group settings.
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical and business problems.
  • Work in and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training, and a minimum seven (7) years of related work experience.
  • Proven experience with system design, development, and deployment using waterfall and agile project management methodologies.
  • Experience with needs analysis, software evaluation and selection, customization, and implementation.
  • Proven experience with package and custom systems and implementations.
  • Experience with system and data conversion projects.
  • Specific experience executing agile methodologies.
  • Experience in the Payroll, HRIS, TLM or Benefits Management Industry is a plus
  • Proven project management experience. PM Certification is a plus
