New Directions seeks to fill 2 Quantitative Analyst I positions for our Kansas City, MO office. The Quantitative Analyst I compiles, reports and analyzes statistical data concerning utilization and operational performance for the purpose of providing, internal departments, owner companies and customers with up-to-date information on the operational status of NDBH.*CB

The Quantitative Analyst I Key Responsibilities include:

  • Extracts using SQL or other query tools, membership, claims, authorization and telephone data from a variety of company and customer databases. Analyzes and reports on the information.
  • Analyzes and reports on data to assist operating departments and management in meeting their objectives while meeting required deadlines.
  • Researches on the availability of data required for a project and the time required to satisfy a request.
  • Preparation of accurate, analytical results which can be readily understood by the customer and converted into action which will lower the cost and/or improve the quality of the company’s products.
  • Actively participates in technical training as required to meet job requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science\Information Technology, Mathematics\ Statistics, Business or other relevant field.
  • Must have 1-3 years of experience in a comparable position.
  • Basic proficiency in SQL and business intelligence applications such as Tableau, MS Analysis/Reporting Services, Business Objects or Oracle
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical materials and financial data. 
  • Must be able to present information in a small group setting with internal customers.
  • Ability to perform complex arithmetic and intermediate algebra to set up spreadsheets and reports.
  • Ability to comprehend and understand for purpose of carrying out instructions in written or verbal form.
  • Intermediate keyboard skills with strong MS Excel experience including ability to use a variety of Excel functions such as: VLOOKUP, ROUND, SUBTOTAL & SUMPRODUCT.
  • Can create spreadsheets with visually pleasing and meaningful results.
  • Ability to use MS Word and MS PowerPoint to convey results to customers and internal staff. 
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of 2012\2013 Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SharePoint\Power View\Power Pivot)
  • Previous experience within the healthcare or insurance industries
