Job Description

Facilitates process improvements between Supply Chain Services and Clinical  Services.  Coordinates and monitors consultative team efforts, related to outcomes, product conversions, contracts, education and distribution process.

Supports Supply Chain needs of physicians, nurses, and support staff within the peri-operative complex improving financial outcomes, refining business processes and enhancing quality as it relates to supply and service procurement.

Develops Value Enhancement programs to standardize products and services through the utilization of contractual vendors.

Oversees OR and Cath Lab Value Enhancement Programs and provides clinical oversight programs to maintain quality and financial integrity for surgical services.

Maintains close working relationships with Supply Chain Managers and Distribution to determine appropriate pricing contract terms, current supply levels and stock/non-stock distribution options.

Works with surgical services, Cath lab, and GI staff on medical device product selection and all aspects of receiving, inventory, and distribution for the peri-operative complex and to develop processes to better support organizational logistics, goals and objectives.

Coordinates with vendors to evaluate and develop a conversion process between surgical services and follows through to prevent delays in established hospital practices and schedules.

Coordinates product trials, conversions and provides product information and support to surgical services, Medical Staff and Supply Chain Services staff.

Acts as the primary point of contact for vendors and clinical services staff in need of product and contractual information. 

Assists with the design and implementation of a variety of new quality assurance initiatives for surgical services such as statistical reports, procedure manuals, case tracking reports and audits for Medical Center reimbursements as required. 

Participates in Supply Chain system-wide quality improvement activities by assisting surgical services with preference list updates and corrections, to ensure contractual utilization and maximize saving.

Performs cost benefits and validation of cost savings initiatives and their expected impact on the surgical services budget.

Assists with information gathering to prepare Request for Proposals and solicit bids on surgical services good and services.

Job Requirements

RN- BSN or Surgical Technician with at least 5 years experience in the Operating Room or Cath Lab. Preference will be given to candidates with Supply Chain experience- or Clinical Resource Management experience. Requires Surgical Services clinical experience to evaluate clinical and financial benefits in supply management. Coordinate with supply chain, clinical, physician staff and vendors reviewing product effectiveness, supply utilization, new technologies and development of cost management strategies. Will lead and direct Value Enhancement Teams to achieve supply management goals in surgical services.
Requires expertise in Operating Room and/or Critical Care Nursing with a minimum of three years healthcare experience with clinical background, strong financial analysis and computer skills. Must be organized and able to work in fast paced environment effecting change though group dynamics.
