Teledyne DGO Brien, a leader in Oil & Gas subsea extreme environment connectors is looking for an energetic, career oriented engineering technician with a positive and mature work ethic to join the New Product Development Engineering R & D lab.

The qualified individual will be responsible for successfully performing the following:

• Work in safe manner and comply with all company safety guidelines.
• Work to project-specific quality plans, test outlines and internal work instructions.
• Adherance to international, customer and internal QA standards and specifications.
• Undertaking mechanical / electrical and fibre-optic assemblies and testing to completion.
• Tear-down, troubleshoot and repair test setups as well as simple to complex assemblies in test.
• Ensuring the use of calibrated equipment with all test setups.
• maintenance of lab equipment.
• Maintaining the lab in a safe and tidy manner and in compliance with 5S standards.
• Tasks as directed and be able to work unsupervised successfully accomplishing the task at hand.
• R&D and Qualification testing as outlined, analyzing and documenting all test results in a methodical and efficient way.
• Work in a team environment and have a proven track-record in collaborating/interacting with engineering.
• Work on multiple tasks, meet deadlines and be highly motivated.
• Designs and development of test methods, practices and protocols for future projects.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will posses the following qualifications and personal attributes:

• Have a solid working knowledge of API, ISO, NORSOK, MIL-STD and other international standards.
• Solid working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, test equipment and test setups.
• Fibre-optic and RF experience a plus.
• Must be able to pass drug testing as well as eye and physical exams.
• Must be able to lift 40lbs and stand for long durations of time.
• Possess good communication and organizational skills and be able to professionally interact at all levels of the company.
• Posses an aptitude to understand and implement automated testing.
• A solid working knowledge of CAD, Benchlink and Labview is strongly encouraged. Labview programming a major plus.
• Proficient in MS excel. Solid working knowledge of MS word, access and outlook a plus.
• Ability to think out of the box.
• Solid working knowledge of data logging equipment, electrical/fibre/pressure and temperature testing as well as electro-mechanical test setups.
• Must be reliable, have a solid work ethic, ability to work under pressure and be flexible in working outside the normal working hours as needed.
• Must be capable of sustained concentration and lateral thinking.
• Working knowledge and experience using a lathe is a plus.
• Must be able to work from sketches, drawings and direction from engineering with limited supervision.
• Ability to travel 5 % to 10 % of the time.
