Program Analyst/Accountant

Job Description

Description: The Program Analyst/Accountant will serve Brightside Academy by managing the budgeting and accounting for specific programs and funding streams.  The position will also assist with the bidding, planning, and implementation of these programs.  A background in social services and education or multi-site businesses is a plus.



Essential Duties: Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Customer Focus
•    Lives Brightside Academy’s values
•    Performs analyses to identify, recommend and implement solutions
•    Displays attention to detail and commitment to quality in all tasks

Financial Accounting/Analysis
•    Prepares journal entries related to programmatic income/expenses
•    Creates and maintains budget models for each individual program
•    Report on programmatic actual to budget variances on a monthly basis
•    Reviews and analyzes data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
•    Purposes policy improvements and implementation strategies
•    Tracks and reports in-kind non-federal match

Team
•    Displays strong interpersonal skills along with ability to succeed in a team environment
•    Promotes team building and works effectively as part of a team
•    Delivers informative, well-organized presentations to the team

Other Requirements
•    Ability to withstand normal physical demands associated with work in an office environment including lifting, bending and carrying
•    Ability to travel independently (approximately 5%) throughout the region and to other regions where Brightside Academy facilities are located

All other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field
•    2+ years relevant analyst/accounting experience
•    Strong business acumen
•    Strong accounting knowledge
•    Strong computer skills, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
•    Exceptional interpersonal skills (team-building, positive thinking, can-do attitude and job flexibility)
•    Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•    Demonstrated strong written, verbal, organizational and communication skills
•    Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of the organization
•    Demonstrated reasoning and problem solving abilities
•    Ability to manage project in a multi-project environment is required
•    Ability to write reports, correspondence and policy/procedure manuals
•    Ability to think strategically and develop new techniques or approaches
•    Ability to work independently and drive processes to completion
