In Vivo Technologist/Senior Technologist

Job Description

There is a regular, full-time In Vivo Technologist position available at The Jackson Laboratory, Sacramento facility. This position is responsible for supporting studies assigned to the team by consistently executing procedures according to protocol and associated SOPs. The work schedule for the incumbent is established based on operational demands and may fluctuate based on the changing needs of the In Vivo Services Department.

Job Requirements

Technologist:

Best practices and standard processes in daily work which support efficiencies, quality, safety, with a customer service focus.  Basic lab animal handling skills.  General lab sanitation.  Provide proactive animal care support to alert the In Vivo team of environmental or unexpected/adverse study-related observations directly impacting animal welfare.

Consistently completing assignments on time.

Demonstrate ability to seek out appropriate personnel resources to address non-routine questions.

Demonstrate ability to comply with all laboratory SOP’s and policies.

Accurate entry of data including lab IT systems and databases.

Maintain appropriate documentation as required by protocols and SOP’s.

Senior Technologist:

Best practices and standard processes in daily work to provide exceptional customer services, exceptional quality or proactive solution implementation, including responses to inquiries and proactive follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.

Provide direct support to project managers.

Proficient to enter and schedule studies and set-up client portal in the lab data management system.

Ability to communicated study relevant data to customers in both written and verbal updates delivered by email or verbally.

Take leadership role in managing studies including internal and external communications.

Perform drug formulations accurately according to sponsor guidelines.

Perform all biomethods as required for an in Vivo Technologist and In Vivo Advance Technologist, provide technical leadership in the development of new technical and surgical skills and provide training support in all biomethods.

 

 

 Required Experience

Two (2) year associate science degree; or high school diploma and three (3) years applicable work experience in a laboratory/animal care setting.

Four (4) year BS in applicable field of study and a minimum of four (4) plus years applicable working experience in a laboratory/animal care setting.

Regular and dependable attendance to maintain work flow.

Demonstrated successful record keeping skills.

Strong written and oral communication skills sufficient to permit clear and effective exchange of information with people representing a wide diversity of disciplines and levels of sophistication.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment while consistently maintain a positive and professional demeanor.  Ability to be flexible and multi-task.

Ability to work with computer software and databases such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
