RN Administrative Supervisor Hospital - Medical Center #LI-SC1

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Nursing Services, this position has responsibility for the management of patient care provided by department personnel in assigned area.  This position assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of the departmental patients in order to ensure that patients and families receive an optimum level of care.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in an acute care setting is required. Five years clinical nursing experience is preferred.  
  • Successful completion of area specific training programs or equivalent experience is required. Supervisory experience is preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Must be licensed as an RN in Texas .
  • CPR is required; ACLS is preferred.

EQUIPMENT/SKILLS:

  • Must possess advanced knowledge of general nursing theory, practice, trends, and be able to apply the knowledge to complex problems.
  • Thorough understanding of the organization of the hospital and CSRHC and its departments, policies, and procedures related to Nursing is required. Skill in supervision, teaching, organizing, counseling, problem solving, and critical thinking is required. Familiarity with community/regional health needs and services is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to organize, coordinate, and direct; demonstrate judgment, diplomacy, assertiveness and initiative. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and health care personnel and an ability to direct and evaluate nursing personnel. 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Works in a modern, temperature controlled, smoke free facility.
  • May be required to lift and carry and stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing workloads and frequent interruptions.
  • May be exposed to body fluids and infectious disease. May be asked to work overtime with little or no notice.
