Job Description

The Avionics Technician is responsible for the maintenance of avionics and electrical systems on transport category aircraft maintained by TIMCO Aviation Services. .  Avionics technicians may be certificated under 14 CFR Part 65 but are not required to be certificated. The Avionics Technician must also perform a variety of installation andinspection tasks on avionics hardware and wiring assemblies.  The Avionics Technician must work within estimated time and in accordance with applicable TIMCO, FAA, and customer regulations and guidance.



  1. Perform such typical avionicsmaintenance functions such as  component removal/installation, wire harness removal/installation, fabrication/repair of wire assemblies, and continuity checks.
  2. Trouble shoot and repair avionics and electrical systems using current applicable data.
  3. Read and interppret avionics schematics and drawings necessary to complete avions related maintenance tasks.
  4. Ensure aircraft are properly configured and protected prior to performing any power on related task.
  5. Fabricate and install all wiring assemblies, , and associated avionics equipment.
  6. Follow all applicable instructions for continued airworthiness to accomplish a specific task.
  7. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  8. Perform work within estimated hours.
  9. Follow all safety/AHEC/LOTO procedures and specifications.
  10. Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.
  11. Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner.
  12. Work with little or no supervision and accomplish assignments with little or no rework.
  13. Assist other employees in the performance of their job assignments through coaching, counseling, and guidance.
  14. Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers

Job Requirements


  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must provide own tools as indicated on company tool list.
  • Language (read, write, speak, and understand English).
  • Two (2) or more years experience troubleshooting and effecting Avionics repairs on Military or Commercial aircraft or two (2) or more years proven performance within TIMCO.



  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant or FAA Airframe certificate.
  • FCC License.
  • Two (2) or more years experience troubleshooting and effecting Avionics Repairs on transport category aircraft in and MRO environment or two (2) or more years proven performance within TIMCO.
